Perfect teeth in 10 weeks!

Hey Everyone!

Hope you've all been okay and had a good Christmas and New Year ☺️ As you may know I work in a dentist as a receptionist so get treatment for free or discounted once I've been working there 6 months or more! Well in September I had my 6 month review and also had my Dental Health Assessment! Surprisingly everything was fine apart from I needed a small filling doing on one of my teeth.

Once I had that done I was 'dentally fit' for 6 Months Smiles, invisible and short term orthodontics, I had my braces fitted on 30th September and on the 27th October, I had my first adjustment. When I first had my braces fitted I struggled to eat for about 5 days although I tried to go straight to harder food just cutting it up very small (a bit like a baby) the main reason for this was as I had bite blocks on so I couldn't bite down on any teeth apart from my back ones. This was hard to get used to and the pain didn't help so I made sure I was keeping on top of taking pain killers.

Surprisingly the first adjustment didn't hurt my teeth or cause much after pain like I'd expected it too. I was used to the braces and eating with them was a lot easier by this point, the main struggle when it came to food was watching what I was eating because I wasn't allowed any tomato based products or anything which would stain my teeth for example curry. I was really craving spaghetti bolognaise by the time my first adjustment came around I was dying to have some so the night before my adjustment I had a nice big portion of spag bol and a glass of coke (as you're not really allowed that either) I definitely treated myself haha.

The second adjustment came around fairly quickly, I had this done on 24th November and we were due to go out for my grandads birthday a few days later so I was worried I wouldn't be able to eat but again I was lucky that the adjustment didn't cause much after pain! At this adjustment Nicky, the dentist, and Nicole, the dental nurse, had a laugh and a joke with me saying I'd kept my braces so clean that they could reuse the bands. It was nice to have a relaxed atmosphere as even though I work here no one enjoys going to the dentist! At this appointment Nicky told me my braces were ready to come off in 2 weeks after speaking to Sharon, the practice manager, and arranging a date for them to be taken off I finally had my de-bond date..safe to say I was excited :)

So just after 2 weeks my de-bond date was here, I was working until 3pm that day and I'm pretty sure the day went slower than any before. It might have something to do with me counting down the hours though...eventually 3pm was here I was so excited to have my braces off. Overall getting them off took about an hour. The pain getting them off wasn't nice but once they were off I wasn't bothered how much it hurt, because my teeth looked amazing! I was so happy and instantly it gave me a bit more confidence.

Despite me saying how much it hurt I would definitely recommend you getting the 6 months smile braces if you are thinking about it, it can cost just over £3000 but most dentists are happy to offer payment plans.
At Titchfield Dental Health we offer different ways to pay for it:
~ V12 interest free loan over 6 or 10 months.
~ Pay half or a lump sum at the impressions appointment then split the remaining amount over each adjustment appointment, however if the braces are ready to come off before the 6 months are up you will need to pay the money before the braces are taken off.

I had got my perfect smile in just 10 WEEKS!
